     Mother

If I could give you diamonds
for each tear you cried for me.

If I could give you sapphires
for each truth you've helped me see.

If I could give you rubies
for the heartache that you've known

If I could give you pearls
for the wisdom that you've shown.

Then you'll have a treasure, mother,
that would mount up to the skies
That would almost match
the sparkle in your kind and loving eyes.

But I have no pearls, no diamonds,
As I'm sure you're well aware
So I'll give you gifts more precious
My devotion, love and care.

When I came home in the rain,

Brother asked why didn't you take an umbrella.

Sister advised, Why didn't you wait till rain stopped.

Father angrily warned, only after getting cold, you will realize.

But Mother, while drying my hair, said, stupid rain!

Couldn't it wait, till my child came home?

That's MOM

RODENTS RUIN TOWN
----Rohan Basu

This is a story of a town ruined by rats and how it drove away the people from there.

In 700 BC, Abdera was a prosperous coastal town in Thrace, Greece. It is said to have been founded by the great hero, Hercules.

It is widely believed that those who breathed the air of Abdera grew stupid ! But the town gave birth to some famous Greeks like Democritus and Anaxarchos, the well-known philosophers.

If the rumour of stupidity did not affect the town, the menace of rats did. For some unknown reason, the rat population increased drastically. They ate up all food and harassed everybody. They grew
more and more menacing day by day. The people had to flee the town. And the town lay deserted. Its ruins spread over seven small hills, can be seen to this day.

Maths, the easy way---by  Chintu

Kids, do you get scared of maths or mathematics ? Do you think it is difficult to understand it. Its not very difficult as you think. Once you understand it, you will enjoy yourself and you will be able to unravel the mystery of numbers. You will be able to play with numbers, and get surprising answers. Here we will show you some tricks with the numbers. It is fun.

If you take the numbers 123456789 and multiply by 8, and add 9, you will be surprised to see the original number in reverse order, ie. 987654321.

Lets see how this happens.

123456789 x 8 = 987654312, then take

987654312 + 9 = 987654321

Secondly, if you add number 8 in a special way, the answer you get will be 1000.

Lets see how this happens.

You take 888+88+8+8+8 = 1000

Now kids tell me isn't maths interesting !
